We’re looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join an Executive Leadership Team at a pivotal stage of growth.
With ambitious investment plans and a clear technology‑led growth strategy, this is an opportunity to shape the future of an established software business where technology, AI, automation and data will be central to value creation.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO will own the end‑to‑end technology strategy, balancing innovation and transformation with operational excellence. This role offers genuine influence across the business and is suited to a commercially minded technology leader who enjoys being close to delivery while setting strategic direction.
The OpportunityAs CTO, you will lead all areas of Technology, Engineering, Data, AI, Infrastructure, Security and Internal IT, ensuring technology becomes a key competitive advantage for the business.
Leading a growing/medium sized technology function, you will inspire high‑performing teams, develop future capability, and drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, AI and automation initiatives, and scalable architecture.
This is not a role for someone who prefers to operate at arm’s length. While you won’t be expected to code, you will be an engaged, hands‑on executive who enjoys working closely with teams, solving complex business challenges and delivering meaningful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Define and execute the company’s technology vision and long‑term strategy.
- Lead Engineering, Data, AI, Infrastructure, Security and Internal IT functions.
- Drive innovation through AI, automation and modern software engineering practices.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing and add Technology input to win key pieces of work.
- Champion Agile ways of working and continuous improvement across technology teams.
- Develop a data strategy that supports product innovation and business decision‑making.
- Ensure technology operations meet the highest standards of security, resilience and compliance.
- Build and develop a high‑performing technology organisation capable of supporting continued growth.
- Partner with executive colleagues to align technology investment with commercial priorities.
- Manage technology budgets, investment planning and delivery against strategic objectives.
- Provide regular reporting and insight to the Executive Team and Board on technology performance and transformation initiatives.
We’re looking for an experienced technology executive with a proven track record of leading technology organisations within software‑first businesses.
You’ll combine strategic thinking with operational delivery and be passionate about using technology to create commercial value.
You’ll bring- Previous experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, Technology Director or similar senior technology leadership role.
- Expertise across software engineering, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, cybersecurity and Dev Ops.
- Experience delivering AI, automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence Boards, investors and senior stakeholders.
