Salary: Up to £45,000 + Excellent Benefits

Our client is a leading UK technology services provider, delivering enterprise Cloud, Connectivity and Managed IT solutions to a broad portfolio of customers across both the public and private sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Data Centre Operations Technician to join their Newcastle-based operations team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business that invests heavily in its people whilst working with enterprise-class infrastructure in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

The Role

You'll be responsible for supporting a wide variety of customer environments, ensuring critical infrastructure is deployed, maintained and supported to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing, configuring and deploying enterprise server, storage and networking hardware.
  • Rack & stack installations, hardware upgrades and break/fix activities.
  • Fibre and copper patching, structured cabling and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Managing incidents and requests through the internal ticketing system, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Maintaining accurate asset records and supporting data centre capacity management.
  • Working closely with internal engineering and operations teams to deliver customer solutions.
  • Following strict change control procedures whilst maintaining excellent operational standards.
About You

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Server, storage and networking hardware deployment.
  • Rack & stack installations.
  • Hardware break/fix and component replacement.
  • Structured cabling (copper and fibre).
  • LAN connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Working within SLA-driven support environments.
  • Delivering excellent customer service and technical support.
  • Experience with in managed hosting or enterprise cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of DCIM platforms (particularly NLyte).
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices and change management.
