You’ll be pivotal in driving performance, developing team capability, and delivery continuous improvement across third party liability, damage, hire and injury claims, while actively contributing to the wider claims vision and operational goals.

- Lead and develop a high-performing third-party claims team, ensuring resource is effectively aligned to meet service levels and technical demands.
- Deliver against the company’s Claims Strategy and Vision through team contribution, process optimisation, and operational excellence.
- Monitor and manage technical performance, ensuring timely, fair, and accurate claim decisions aligned with FCA regulations, legal regulatory change and internal standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and 1-2-1s, providing targeted feedback, coaching, and identifying training needs to grow technical capability.
- Approve claims payments within authority, ensuring accuracy, appropriate reserves, and strong file documentation.
- Analyse MI and performance data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and anticipate third-party behaviours and litigation risks.
- Handle escalated complaints in line with regulatory and company standards, carrying out root cause analysis to drive service improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing and refining third-party claims processes, focusing on liability, indemnity, and fraud risk controls.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders including panel solicitors, credit hire providers, and supply chain partners.
- Champion a culture of customer-centricity, integrity, and compliance across the claims team.
- Lead targeted initiatives to address performance opportunities, monitor value delivery, and present impact back to stakeholders.
- Ability to translate operational insight into actionable improvements and clearly communicate team impact through data-led presentations.
Including any key levels of qualification for the role and/or time served experience.
Essential- Minimum 5 years of experience in motor claims, with a strong emphasis on third-party claims handling.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role within an insurance claims environment.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex, litigated, or high-value third-party motor claims (knowledge of TPPD, credit hire, bodily injury).
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop technical claims teams, including setting performance targets and overseeing quality standards.
- Experience working in a regulated environment, and supporting customer outcome delivery.
- Evidence of continued professional development relevant to insurance and claims handling.
- Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate or Diploma in Insurance (or actively working towards).
