If you've got solid EL/PL experience and you're looking for a role where you can get stuck into your own caseload, this could be worth a look.

I've got an opportunity with an established specialist Personal Injury firm in Newcastle that's looking to add an experienced EL/PL Portal Claims Handler to the team.

The role is very much about running your own claims and keeping them moving — from the initial notification through to settlement, with the usual mix of liability, medical evidence, valuation and negotiation along the way.

You'll be dealing with things like:

• EL/PL claims through the Portal
• CNFs, limitation and liability
• Medical evidence and valuation of claims
• Loss of earnings, care and other special damages
• Negotiating settlement and progressing claims through the relevant Portal stages
• Part 8 and Stage 3 work where required
• Preparing hearing briefs and bundles
• Liaising with insurers, other solicitors, experts and clients

They're looking for someone who already hasat least a year's experience in EL/PL Personal Injury and understands how to manage a busy Portal caseload.

You don't need to have done absolutely everything above, but you should be comfortable picking up a file, knowing what needs to happen next and getting on with it.

It's a role that should suit someone who enjoys the practical side of Personal Injury claims handling, wants responsibility for their own files and is looking for a solid team environment rather than a production-line setup.
