Position: Credit Hire Claims Handler
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

A respected and expanding law firm in Newcastle are looking for an experienced Credit Hire Claims Handler to join its specialist team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong credit hire knowledge looking to progress within a stable and supportive legal environment.

You will manage a caseload of pre-litigated and litigated credit hire claims, working closely with solicitors and senior team members to achieve timely and cost-effective outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling credit hire claims from instruction to settlement
  • Assessing liability, quantum, and prospects of success
  • Dealing with hire disputes, impecuniosity arguments, and mitigation issues
  • Negotiating settlements and drafting correspondence
  • Liaising with clients, insurers, and third parties
  • Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and deadlines

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience handling credit hire claims (claimant or defendant)
  • Good working knowledge of credit hire principles and relevant case law
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision
  • Experience with in a law firm or insurance environment
