AML Compliance Officer Teesside

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team, based at either our Stockon or Newcastle office. Reporting to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer will oversee our AML practices and procedures to ensure that we comply with both internal and external AML regulations and guidance.

This is a busy and varied role, and the main duties will include:

• Keeping up to date with the latest AML regulations, guidance and industry practices
• Developing and maintaining effective AML Policies and Procedures
• Regularly reviewing and updating the AML Policies and Procedures in line with changes to AML regulations, guidance and best practice
• Overseeing the implementation of AML Policies and Procedures
• Training colleagues on AML regulations and best practice; and the application of the AML Policies and Procedures
• Providing guidance and/or authorisations in response to colleague’s AML enquiries
• Auditing and monitoring compliance with AML Policies and Procedures
• Working with management to address AML concerns and breaches
• Liaising with the SRA, Law Society, NCA and any other regulatory or supervisory bodies in relation to AML.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Proven experience as an AML Compliance Officer or similar role, ideally within the law sector
• A strong knowledge of AML laws and regulations
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
• Strong communication and relationship building skills
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities and be highly organised
• Experience in risk management and regulatory compliance
• An AML, Law, Finance or business qualification or another related field
