Contract:
Permanent, Full-Time – 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
We are seeking a skilled and dependable General Operative to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. This hands‑on role will be primarily lone working within both occupied and void properties. You will support our goal of maintaining properties to a high standard through a mix of practical tasks, customer service and teamwork.
Responsibilities- Carry out property inspections and complete a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks.
- Change light bulbs, fit and adjust blinds, apply silicone, secure doors and perform other minor repairs as required.
- Check smoke alarms and work through a structured checklist to ensure all properties meet required standards.
- Maintain an independent and detail‑oriented approach while ensuring safety and quality compliance.
- Travel across the region as required and work within the team’s schedule.
- Basic DIY skills – able to re‑plumb a washing machine, put up blinds, refix door handles and silicone a bath.
- Customer service experience and good communication skills.
- IT literate and able to use a structured checklist.
- Ability to provide own hand tools, including spirit level, screwdrivers and hammers.
- Full UK driving licence; must be over 21, have held the licence for more than 3 months and have less than 9 points.
- Reliable, with excellent time‑keeping and a can‑do attitude.
- Must have the entitlement to work within the UK; visa sponsorship is not offered.
- Background, identity and BPSS checks will be required.
