Hadrian School, Benwell.

Salary: £29,064 - £31,022 per annum (pay award pending)

Hours:

37 hours per week (split shift)

Shift schedule:

• Mondays to Thursdays 7.00-9.30
• Fridays 7.00-9.30

Closing date: 2 August 2026

• Security of the premises, setting alarms, general health and safety issues relating to the building
• Range of porterage duties
• Supervision of cleaning staff
• Deal with varying workloads and cleaning of a defined area
• Manage own time
• Flexible around key events in the school calendar e.g parents evenings, governing body meetings, Christmas and summer fairs etc.
• Available to undertake lettings for the school when required

• Good communication skills
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• Capable of regular stooping, bending, lifting and carrying of equipment, materials/furniture and climbing ladders
• Caretaking experience in a school would be an advantage
• Must be able to undertake the split shift requirements of the role
• Must be capable of written and spoken instructions and speak English
• Full driving licence for additional overtime driving the school minibus (if required)

Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services. We have a large team of cleaners, cleaner supervisors, facility supervisors (caretakers), catering assistants, assistant chef’s and chef’s working various hours and shifts in schools and public buildings.
