Commercial Manager at Asthon A/S
Step into a key leadership role managing commercial, contractual, and financial operations for a major civil engineering and infrastructure project. The position is based in Seascale, working within a complex, highly regulated environment. This is a permanent, full‑time role offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Job Details- Pay:
Circa £90,000 (Negotiable based on skillset and experience) - Hours of work:
Full Time, Monday to Friday (45 hours) - Employment:

Car allowance £6,325, 8% employer pension contribution, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Oversee commercial, contractual, and financial management activities for a major civils and infrastructure package.
- Lead commercial governance, cost forecasting, compensation event management, subcontract administration, change control, reporting, and risk/commercial strategy.
- Ensure commercial processes, cost‑management systems, and contract controls are robust, compliant, and aligned with NEC procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, engineers, supply chain partners, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Provide commercial assurance, value protection, accurate financial reporting, and successful commercial outcomes across all project phases.
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager on large civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong competence with NEC3/NEC4 contract administration, especially ECC forms.
- Experience managing cost control, forecasting, CVRs, change management, and subcontract packages.
- Ability to lead commercial reviews, client reporting, and stakeholder interfacing.
- Strong understanding of risk management, early warnings, compensation events, and programme impacts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and client‑facing skills.
- High level of commercial governance, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
- Experience with major remediation, decommissioning or high‑complexity civil engineering works.
- Chartered status (MRICS or working towards chartership).
- Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or related discipline.
