Brand-New, High-Spec Service - Ready for Registration
I am currently working in partnership with a well-established children's residential care provider (operating successfully for over 20 years) to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed Learning Disabilities children's home in Newcastle.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a new, high-spec service from day one. The home is ready to be registered and the successful candidate will lead the Ofsted registration process, build the staff team and embed a positive, child-centred culture from the outset.
The Opportunity
This role would suit:
- An experienced Registered Manager looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to shape a new service, or
- A strong and ambitious Deputy Manager with solid LD leadership experience who is ready to step up into their first Registered Manager position.
The provider has a strong reputation within the sector and offers hands-on support from an experienced senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Ofsted registration and ensure full regulatory compliance
- Recruit and develop an entire staff team, including Deputies and Support Workers
- Establish a therapeutic, structured, and nurturing home environment
- Maintain high safeguarding standards and risk management practices
- Oversee personalised care planning and positive behaviour support
- Manage budgets, occupancy, and operational performance
- Develop strong relationships with Local Authorities and external professionals
- Drive the service toward positive Ofsted outcomes
Essential Requirements
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (Children & Young People) - essential
- Proven leadership experience within a children's residential Learning Disabilities (LD) setting
- Experience at Deputy Manager or Registered Manager level
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards
- Experience recruiting, leading, and developing staff teams
- Passion for delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes
