As a combined Team Manager of Practice Development and Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO), you will play a crucial role in supporting practice development and ensuring children and families in North Tyneside receive exceptional service and support.

What you will do

  • Lead a dynamic team of advanced practitioners, focusing on the enhancement of learning and continuous practice development within the Safeguarding and Children’s Services.
  • Oversee the ASYE programme, taking a leading role in redesigning the current framework to align with national reforms into the Early Career Development Programme.
  • Manage the Social Work Career and Qualification Pathway, including supporting student placements, regional programmes, and apprenticeship schemes.
  • Act as the main point of contact in your role as LADO, ensuring compliance with safeguarding responsibilities and guidelines under Working Together 2018.

Requirements of the Team Manager

  • A degree or equivalent in social work and a current Social Work England registration.
  • Recent managerial experience in children’s services.
  • Proven track record as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
