Galliford Try Investments (GTI) is expanding its Development Management team as part of its ambition to deliver 1,200 new affordable homes by 2030. We are seeking an experienced Development Manager to play a key role in sourcing, securing, and delivering high-quality affordable housing developments across the UK.

Working closely with the Director of Developments and sector leads, you will help identify new opportunities, build strategic partnerships, and manage projects from inception to completion.

What you will be doing:
  • Identify new sites and opportunities, assess viability, and develop proposals for projects
  • Work with internal teams to secure partnerships with Registered Providers and for-profit clients
  • Lead and coordinate bid processes, ensuring all stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Appoint and manage partners, advisors, and design teams
  • Develop and manage project programmes to ensure delivery remains on track
  • Take responsibility for the preparation and submission of final bid proposals
  • Lead presentations to landowners, clients, funders, and stakeholders
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, landowners, agents, and local authorities
  • Oversee financial appraisals and ensure full cost and risk consideration
  • Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications and manage the planning process
  • Identify and manage risks, working with commercial teams to achieve viable solutions
  • Monitor contractor and partner performance to ensure successful project delivery
  • Manage internal approvals, budgets, and expenditure
  • Lead negotiations from preferred bidder stage through to financial close
About you:
  • Proven track record delivering affordable housing developments from inception to completion
  • Experience in site finding and acquisition
  • Experience working on land-led partnership transactions with Registered Providers and for-profit organisations
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to assess costs and risks
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders
