Coat Maker​/Sewing Machinist

Responsibilites:

• Sewing Coats
• Sewing other garments
• Hand sewing (basic)
• Preparing machine by changing needles and thread; securing attachments
• Braiding
• Using other types of machines (for example)
• Basting
• Zig-Zag
• Blind Hemmer
• Overlocker
• Button Hole Machine
• Pressing Equipment
• Maintains quality by inspecting finished product/ work
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, business code of ethics and other company requirements
• Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required

• Essential – a good solid education is essential, with a minimum of GCSE passes in Maths and English or equivalent
• Essential – Good PC skills.
• Fluent English speaking

• Experience in a similar role, which demonstrates practical and interpersonal skills to a high competent standard

• Excellent verbal and good basic standard of written communication skills
• Understanding of garment construction
• Competency in understanding garment specifications
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• A solid understanding of cloths and braids
• Good organisational skills
• Sound numeracy and basic computer literacy
• Able to work systematically and use own initiative
