Test Technician

As a Test Services Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and testing technical samples, operating specialist test equipment and rigs, and accurately reporting results in line with relevant procedures and specifications. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality operations while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

• Prepare, assemble and record test samples, including mechanical, cable and fibre optic components
• Set up and operate test equipment and rigs
• Install, instrument, calibrate and monitor samples during testing
• Perform testing activities using appropriate procedures, instrumentation and data acquisition systems
• Prepare and terminate qualification samples for testing
• Accurately document and report test findings in line with specifications
• Support the development of bespoke testing apparatus for evolving requirements
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and participate in 5S activities
• Promote and adhere to Health, Safety and Environmental policies
• Work collaboratively within the team to achieve departmental objectives
• Train colleagues in new technologies, skills and procedures where required
• Support general departmental efficiency and continuous improvement
• Mechanical and electrical background
• ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
• Hydraulic and/or electrical testing experience
• Experience using computerised systems, including data manipulation and graphing in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of data acquisition systems and electronic testing equipment such as data loggers, sensors and transducers
