Job Description
Job Role- Sets up and operates C.N.C. and conventional machines to produce components in accordance with specifications.
- Makes necessary edits to NC part programmes to optimise the machining of components and feeds this information back to programmers. (This may need metric/imperial conversion.)
- Selects and where necessary pre‑sets tooling in accordance with Tool Sheets.
- Checks finished work in accordance with Quality Acceptance Standard, using relevant measurement equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Vernier, C.M.M.).
- Maintains tooling, components, machine and working environment in a clean and orderly state.
- Carries out basic lubrication and maintenance of machines in line with training.
- Maintains documentation regarding quality and progress of the job.
The CNC Operator position is on a 3 shift pattern (mornings/afternoons/nights) and is paid at an attractive hourly rate. This is an initial 3‑6 month role, however there could be scope for extension depending on workload on site.
Education and Experience- ONC or City Guilds in relevant discipline.
- Previous CNC operation in an engineering environment.
- Experience working to fine tolerances.
