Our client is looking for experienced CNC Machinists to join their manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist to work within a high-quality engineering environment, operating CNC machinery and producing precision components to exacting standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe day-to-day operation of allocated machinery, ensuring production targets, quality standards and customer requirements are consistently achieved.
Shift PatternDay Shift
Monday to Thursday, 07:00 until 16:45
- * Pay rate between £16.46 per hour and £18.46 per hour depending on experience
Following successful training, candidates will have the opportunity to move onto a shift pattern with enhanced pay rates
Day Shift
Monday to Thursday, 07:00 until 19:00
- * 17% shift allowance
- * Example: £16.46 per hour increases to £19.26 per hour
Night Shift
Monday to Thursday, 19:00 until 07:00
- * 36.29% shift allowance
- * Example: £16.46 per hour increases to £22.43 per hour
CNC Machining
- * Operate CNC Turning and CNC Milling machines.
- * Set and operate machines to produce high-quality precision components.
- * Work to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
- * Complete accurate checks throughout the manufacturing process.
- * Carry out first-off inspections and make adjustments where required.
- * Ensure components meet internal quality standards and specifications.
- * Maintain production targets, efficiency, quality, 5S and health & safety standards.
- * Liaise with Tool Preparation Operatives to ensure materials and tooling are available when required.
- * Create and update CNC set-up sheets to company standards.
- * Ensure machines are set up within required target times.
- * Understand production requirements and implement improvements to maintain performance.
- * Produce components within agreed cycle times.
- * Dress and finish components as required.
- * Ensure all components are correctly identified and traceable.
Use inspection equipment including -
- * Verniers
- * Micrometers
- * PI Tape
- * CMM
- * Inspection Arms
- * Operate forklift trucks to move materials, components and engineering items safely.
- * Carry out lifting and slinging activities when required.
- * Ensure correct storage and handling of materials.
- * Maintain good housekeeping standards and reduce FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
- * Complete daily machine, inspection, shadow board and maintenance checks.
- * Carry out basic machine maintenance and report any issues to the Cell Leader/Supervisor.
- * Previous experience operating CNC Turning and/or CNC Milling machinery.
- * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- * Experience working to tight tolerances and quality standards.
- * Competent using inspection equipment.
- * Understanding of manufacturing processes and production targets.
- * Ability to work safely and accurately within a busy engineering environment.
