Our client are looking to recruit an exceptional
Production
Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our manufacturing operation.
This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys being close to production, understands how to organise people and machinery effectively, and takes personal responsibility for getting the job finished properly and on time.
The Job you’ll doYou will have overall responsibility for planning and controlling production, working closely with our Foreman and a team of approximately 15productionemployees.
You will be responsible for:
Creating and maintaining daily and weeklyproductionplans.
Allocating labour and machine capacity effectively.
Ensuringproductiontargets and delivery dates are achieved.
Monitoring productivity, quality, waste and downtime.
Identifying and removingproductionbottlenecks.
Managing and developing theproductionteam.
Working closely with purchasing, sales and management.
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safety.
Introducing practical Lean/continuous-improvement initiatives.
Producing clearproductionreports and KPIs.
Taking ownership whenproductionfalls behind plan and putting it back on track.
We are looking for someone who has genuinely managed a manufacturing operation rather than someone who has simply held a managerial title.
Proven manufacturing/production management experience.
Experience managing a team.
Welding/fabrication industry experience.
Strong planning and organisational ability.
Excellent understanding ofproductionflow.
Ability to prioritise under pressure.
A practical, hands-on management style.
Good communication and people-management skills.
A track record of improving productivity, delivery or quality.
Most importantly, you will be someone who sees a problem on the factory floor and think.
£55,000 plus bonus on target attainment.
