An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Brand Manager to join a leading and award-winning pharmaceutical company based in Berkshire. With over 50 years of animal health experience, our client provides a diverse range of high efficacy veterinary and retail medicines for companion animals and farm animals, focussing on parasite control, infection management and pain relief.
Within this role you will join a team of 11 animal health specialists and work very closely with the Head of Animal Health and a fellow Brand Manager to develop an omnichannel and brand strategy for animal health products, as well as gaining the chance to work on the Human RX portfolio.

Responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with sales teams to present and promote the company and its brands with effective marketing skills
- Propose, prepare and develop marketing strategies and tactics for brands through to implementation and performance evaluation
- Developing engaging content ideas to support product strategies and campaign creation
- Plan, organise, execute and report on marketing, customer and trade events
- Work closely with global HQ brand managers to plan and prepare promotional materials, based on materials prepared by the HQ team, adjusted according to the UK market and channel specific audiences
- Creating value-based partnerships with agencies and suppliers for marketing activities, advertising and content creation to deliver impactful promotional campaigns and tools
- Prepare and provide educational materials with the support of the local Technical Vet, including training and seminars for the brand range for sales team, ensuring that the materials are compliant with accordance to VMD & NOAH regulations
- Support and liaise with the sales team to ensure the client’s needs are being met from a marketing perspective
- Liaise and work with various marketing agencies to develop content and when required, put out for tender
- Coordinate with Finance team on ensuring accurate reporting and timely invoicing of marketing activities and budget management
- Contributing to monthly and quarterly reporting cycles required at HQ and UK market level
- Monitoring competition situation on the market and market development trends, summarising and co-ordinating with UK commercial team on strategies to leverage market opportunities and anticipate competitive threats
- Keep current with the regulations related with marketing, medicines, medicinal and other products promoted and with activities of health care authorities
- Informing the sales team with product update information from HQ and Regulatory updates
Required experience:
- University Degree within Marketing, Brand Management, Veterinary, or equivalent
- A strong background within Brand Management and/or Marketing
- Expertise in developing brand positioning and strategy from market launch to product lifecycle end
- Experience in managing creative, comms, event and digital marketing agencies
- Expertise in briefing, project management and review with 3rd party agencies and media platforms
- Previous animal health experience within pharmaceuticals, pet care or pet food – companion animal, retail and farm animals is highly desirable
- Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, and specific knowledge of UK VMD and NOAH marketing regulatory compliance would be an advantage
- Broad range of media experience, including print, social media and website IT skills Microsoft suite, Canva, Word press;
