Digital Marketing Manager (At a top creative agency on the up)

Newcastle – Onsite

Competitive salary, based on experience

The Opportunity

We’re working with a leading independent creative agency in Newcastle that’s looking for an experienced Digital Marketing Manager to join its team.

This is a client-facing digital marketing role with a strong focus on client management, campaign delivery and coordination.

You’ll act as the key link between clients and the agency’s internal digital, strategy, creative and development teams – understanding what clients need, translating that into clear briefs and plans, and making sure digital activity is delivered brilliantly.

You’ll work closely with the agency’s internal strategist, helping turn strategic thinking into well-planned campaigns, customer journeys and digital activity across multiple channels.

What You’ll Be Doing Client Management
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with a portfolio of clients.
  • Act as a key day-to-day contact for digital marketing activity.
  • Lead client meetings, updates and campaign conversations with confidence.
  • Understand client objectives, challenges and priorities and translate these into clear briefs for internal teams.
  • Manage expectations, timelines and deliverables while maintaining excellent levels of client service.
  • Identify opportunities to add value and develop existing client relationships.
Digital Campaign Delivery
  • Manage the planning and delivery of digital campaigns and customer journeys across email, CRM, SEO, websites, paid media and social.
  • Work alongside the internal strategist to turn agreed strategies into clear, actionable digital plans.
  • Coordinate activity across creative, copy, development, digital and account teams.
  • Ensure campaigns and projects are delivered on brief, on time and to a high standard.
  • Oversee website-related activity including sitemaps, content requirements, keyword research and recommendations around structure and SEO.
  • Keep multiple projects moving simultaneously, ensuring everyone understands responsibilities, deadlines and next steps.
Performance & Optimisation
  • Monitor campaign and channel performance across client accounts.
  • Work with specialists to understand performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Turn data and results into clear, client-friendly updates and recommendations.
  • Produce and present campaign reports, highlighting performance, learnings and next steps.
  • Ensure learnings from previous activity are incorporated into future campaigns.
Internal Collaboration
  • Be the bridge between clients and the agency’s internal specialist teams.
  • Work closely with strategy, creative, development, copy and digital specialists.
  • Create clear briefs and ensure teams have the information they need to deliver great work.
  • Provide direction and support throughout projects, keeping both clients and internal teams aligned.
  • Help maintain high standards of communication, organisation and delivery across accounts.
What We’re Looking For

We’d love to speak to someone who has:

  • Strong digital marketing experience, ideally gained within an agency environment.
  • Excellent client and account management skills.
  • A good understanding of SEO, CRM, email, websites, paid media and social.
  • Experience managing integrated digital campaigns from brief through to delivery and reporting.
  • Confidence working with internal specialists rather than needing to be the technical expert in every channel.
  • The ability to turn client requirements into clear briefs and actionable plans.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Confidence leading client meetings and presenting campaign performance.
  • Good commercial awareness and an ability to spot opportunities within existing accounts.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to…
