The Role

The Department of Sociology is offering a Social Media and Marketing Internship available to our student community. The purpose of the internship is to support the postholder in the development of their skills in social media and website management, while providing student to student social media content. This may include development of content on Linked In, Instagram and Tik Tok, as well as expanding platforms used by the department, such as weibo, wechat and shaohungshu.

The postholder will work with staff to develop engaging and creative content that is in line with University brand guidelines and that best represents the department community. This is a role that will create external facing communications representing the university, therefore it is essential that the postholder understands and takes seriously this responsibility. They must create content in line with ethical guidelines and that positively promotes the programme.

This is a flexible internship that is designed to be managed alongside studies. On average, we expect a commitment of roughly 3 hours per week, but this is flexible across the internship in line with your studies. Weekly timecards will be agreed with the line manager. The internship is available until summer 2027
