About

Join the Bluebell Railway Fundraising & Trust Support Team (Voluntary Role).

The Bluebell Railway is one of the UK’s leading heritage railways, dedicated to preserving the past for future generations. A vital part of this work is fundraising – ensuring we have the resources to maintain, restore, and grow our railway.

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Funding Team and Bluebell Railway Trust support team.

About the Role

  • Drafting and developing funding applications
  • Researching data and opportunities
  • Managing and monitoring grant applications

In addition, the Bluebell Railway Trust carries out important day‑to‑day work, such as liaising with donors, handling legacies, and managing accounts. We are also looking for volunteers with skills in:

  • Administration
  • Bookkeeping
What We’re Looking For
  • Grant application writing
  • Business bid development or tendering
  • Project research and administration
  • General administration or bookkeeping
Why Join Us?
  • Play a key role in helping secure the future of a much‑loved heritage railway
  • Use your professional skills to make a real difference
  • Flexible volunteering – most tasks can be done from home, with only occasional meetings at Sheffield Park Station

If you’d like to put your skills to work supporting one of Britain’s most iconic heritage railways, we’d be delighted to hear from you.

These are ongoing roles and will be substantially done from home. When are how much is at the discretion of the volunteer.

There is no age limit for this role, and a DBS check is not required. Please be aware that occasional visits to Sheffield Park station are required and the public transport is very limited.
