Registered Nurse Newcastle Inpatient Unit

We are looking for Registered Nurses to join our Inpatient Unit at Newcastle Hospice on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Main duties of the job

As a nurse at Marie Curie you will provide high‑quality, person‑centred palliative care, participate in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care needs, coordinate care from admission to discharge, administer medication and treatment, and offer emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and carers.

Job details

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale (aligned with AFC) Band 5 £ 32,073‑£39,043 per annum + enhancements

Hours: Full Time or Part Time, 37.5 hours per week

Shift pattern: (Days 7.30 am‑8 pm, Nights 7.30 pm‑8 am)

Contract: 12 months Fixed Term

Based: Newcastle Hospice

Closing date: 27 July 2026

Interview date: 11 August 2026

Person specification Experience
  • Working with minimal or no supervision
  • Recent experience of working in a healthcare environment providing care for people at the end of their lives
  • Experience in a specialist palliative care setting
  • Experience in a hospice or community setting
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse on NMC register (Adult)
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Relevant post‑registration training (e.g., palliative and end‑of‑life care, leadership, quality improvement)
  • Clinical supervisor
