Staff Nurse

Overview

An exciting opportunity for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic Band 5 Staff Nurse (Registered Adult) to work within the Neuro Rehabilitation inpatient service on Ward 3, Walkergate Park. The service supports individuals who have sustained an acquired brain injury and present with a range of physical, cognitive, communication and emotional problems.

• Act as a Primary/Named Nurse within a multi‑disciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs‑based care plans through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person‑centred, evidence‑based nursing care.
• Be actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.
• Be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.
• Contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.
• Contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students.
• Contribute to staff appraisals and support personal development plans.
• Safely administer medication following Trust policies and practice guidelines.
• Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.

• Strong commitment to the delivery of high‑quality, safe patient care.
• Interest in working within neurological care.
• Registered adult nursing qualification with Band 5 status.
• Availability to undergo standard NHS pre‑employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
