A fixed-term, 22-month Band 6 post as a systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) nurse in the Royal Surrey Cancer Centre at Royal Surrey County Hospital. The role centres on assessing patients, planning and supervising their care, evaluating its effect and supporting colleagues' learning. It sits in an outpatient cancer centre delivering high-volume chemotherapy, linked to research with universities and drug companies. NMC registration and recent cancer or SACT experience are required, along with a teaching and mentorship qualification.

- Facilitate the learning and development of others
- Demonstrate leadership, openness and transparency
- Uphold Trust values and the NMC Code of Conduct or equivalent
- First degree or working towards one
- Care of the Patient Requiring SACT course
- ENB 998 Teaching qualification
- Mentorship qualification
- Evidence of professional updating of knowledge in the past one to two years
- NMC registration, Part 1 or Part 12 or equivalent
- Recent post-qualification cancer nursing experience, or equivalent experience in a SACT setting
- Advanced practice skills: IV additives, cannulation, venepuncture and SACT administration
- Up-to-date clinical credibility and competence
- Knowledge of current issues in the acute NHS setting
- Knowledge of clinical governance, including complaints handling and clinical risk management
- Knowledge of current NHS and professional issues
- At least 1 year working as a Band 6 SACT nurse
