We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health,Safety and Environment Advisor to lead and champion our Health, Safety and Environment initiatives and ensure thewell-being of our team and contractors across our manufacturing site.
The RoleAs the Health, Safety and Environment Advisor
,you’ll be responsible for:
- Continuously improving workplace health, safety and environment systems and policies.
- Leading safety training, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Fostering a culture of safety awareness, safety engagement and accountability at all levels.
- Ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation and industry best practices.
- Partnering with operational leaders to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Coaching and influencing leaders to enhance our safety systems, practices and decision-making.
- Managing our return-to-work function to achieve successful outcomes.
- Co-ordinating our environmental compliance and official reporting processes.
- Driving both operational and strategic elements of thesafety role.
- Analysis and reporting of health, safety and environment performance.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for ICAMs, Codes of Practice, Audits etc.
- Co-ordination of Monthly Safety themes, Done Safe,Chemwatch, Respiratory and Hearing Test Requirements,Contractor management etc.
- Proven, contemporary experience in a Health and Safety role, ideally within a heavy industry or manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of Australian WHS laws and ISO safety standards.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyse data and drive evidence-based safety improvements.
- Excellent communicator, with empathy and sound relationship skills.
- Qualification in Work Health and Safety (or related field).
- Highly systems-oriented with strong WHS software capability.
