We’re looking for a proactive and detail-focused Quality Advisor to join our team in a business‑critical role. This position is perfect for someone ready to build on their experience and step into greater responsibility. The Quality Advisor supports both operational quality control and strategic quality initiatives, contributing directly to quality assurance, continuous improvement, and long‑term business success.

What you'll be doing:
  • Carry out and support inspection activities across incoming materials, in‑process work, and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards. Maintain accurate quality records and manage non‑conforming products.
  • Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.
  • Investigate non‑conformances using structured root cause analysis methods and support the implementation of effective corrective actions. Review quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring readiness, tracking actions, and supporting compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements.
  • Work with project teams, customers, and suppliers to support quality planning, resolve issues, and ensure requirements are clearly understood and met.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, promoting a proactive, inclusive quality culture and supporting best practice across operations.
  • Maintain calibration systems and carry out hands‑on inspection activities, including measuring and checking components (inbound and outbound goods).

Experience and Knowledge
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience in both quality inspection and quality management.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement activities.
  • Experience with process mapping or flowcharts.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Confident using IT systems, including MS tools such as Word, Excel, Teams, Visio and SharePoint.
Qualifications
  • HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
Skills and Attributes
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.
  • A hands‑on approach, comfortable working in a workshop environment.
  • Confidence in understanding and applying procedures, regulations, and technical information.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A positive, adaptable approach to change and evolving priorities.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
  • Experience working with integrated management systems
