As a Chef at Mulligans, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality dishes that complement our exciting, competitive social setting. You will work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment, ensuring our guests enjoy a premium culinary experience while maintaining the highest levels of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Control:
Monitor the quality of food preparation and presentation to ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s high standards. Ensure consistency in taste and presentation in all meals. - Kitchen Management:
Assist with managing kitchen staff, ensuring smooth and efficient kitchen operations. Train and mentor junior team members. - Inventory & Stock Control:
Help manage inventory levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing food waste. Ensure that the kitchen is well‑stocked with necessary ingredients while maintaining cost‑efficiency. - Health & Safety:
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. - Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the front‑of‑house team to ensure a seamless dining experience for guests. Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure efficient operations, particularly during peak times. - Customer
Experience:
Ensure a memorable experience for guests by consistently delivering high‑quality dishes and maintaining a positive kitchen culture. Respond to customer feedback and adapt as needed to enhance their dining experience.
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a fast‑paced kitchen, preferably within a competitive social and hospitality setting.
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
- A passion for food and creating unique dining experiences.
- Ability to adapt and innovate in response to customer needs and trends.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Culinary qualifications (e.g., Culinary Arts Degree or equivalent).
- Experience in managing kitchen staff and inventory.
- Knowledge of current food trends and customer preferences.
- Experience in a competitive social setting (e.g., event‑based dining or themed restaurant).
