Retail Assistant - Part Time

Overview

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop on Stamfordham Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. We offer a permanent part-time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 20 hours across 5 days per week, including weekends.

• Hours:
  
  20 hours across 5 days per week.
• Pay: £10.95 - £12.81 per hour (age dependent).

The amount you earn depends on your age:

• Ages 16-20 = £10.95 per hour
• Ages 21+ = £12.81 per hour

• Make customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
• Help customers find the items they are looking for.
• Provide fast and friendly till service, help with packing, and leave a positive impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
• Handle stock with care, assist with deliveries, and place products onto shelves and freezers for customers to buy.
• Work with the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep the shop safe, clean and tidy.

• A friendly, positive, hard-working attitude.
• Enjoy being busy and able to switch between tasks such as deliveries, till service, assisting customers, cleaning and stock rotation.
• Reliability as part of a small team. Colleagues and customers will depend on you to do your best each shift.
• Flexibility with shifts. Rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and outside commitments will be considered when planning shifts.
• To complete an Employment Verification check if offered the position. The check will verify previous employment history with HMRC.
