Our Customer Delivery Driver pay starts from £14.18 an hour; increases to £15.45 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may choose to work fewer hours (minimum 12).

We schedule your contracted hours within the availability windows, and you will receive 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. We support flexibility if your availability matches closely but not exactly.

About the Role

As the face of Tesco on the road, you deliver from Lands' End to John O'Groats. The role goes beyond driving – it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile.

Responsibilities
  • I ensure the van and trays I use are clean and kept tidy/organised.
  • Leaving the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, and picking up litter as I see it.
  • Ensuring trays are washed as part of the tray wash process.
  • Loading the van as required, checking the van for roadworthiness.
  • Talking to the customer about changes to their order, including short code items and substitutions, and offering refunds for any issues.
  • Taking care of products/deliveries as if they were my own.
  • Explaining to the customer that they will not be charged for their substitutions.
  • Delivering during the customer’s time slot.
  • Calling the customer before arriving at their property if arriving early.
  • Calling the store/centre if running 30 or more minutes late.
  • Building relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and ensure the store serves customers best.
  • Providing warm, welcoming interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to understand them and say "Thank you."
  • Responding quickly to changing customer needs and embracing change within the store.
  • Being energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, finding balance between home and work.
  • Sharing ideas with my Manager and colleagues on how to improve the store for customers.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic only) for at least 12 months with no more than 3 penalty points.

  • Valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (Full or Automatic) for at least 12 months with ≤ 3 penalty points.
  • Ability to work within the specified availability windows.
