An opportunity exists for a suitable individual to work within the Facility Services & Civic Management Division of the City Operations, Neighbourhoods and Regulatory Services Directorate as a Security Officer based at the Civic Centre, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Responsibilities- Monitor CCTV and electronic security systems.
- Coordinate responses to alarm activations and provide mobile assistance.
- Report breaches of security, prepare incident reports and ensure duties are carried out in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in the security industry.
- Strong IT skills and an excellent telephone manner.
- Holding a current SIA CCTV and Door Supervisor licence is desirable; comprehensive training will be provided for candidates who do not hold these licences.
- Appointment subject to satisfactory completion of a Non‑Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV2) check.
24‑hour service operated; 11‑hour shift on an 8‑week rota pattern, average 37 hours per week. Shift and weekend enhancements as well as contractual overtime are paid above the basic salary.
