Position: Recovery Volunteer/ Ambassador
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

What the role involves

As a volunteer you will help deliver structured programmes, co‑facilitate and support recovery sessions, offer peer support to clients, assist Recovery Coaches with home visits and assessments, support clients in their recovery journey, raise awareness of the service and other support services, complete mandatory training in a timely manner, and attend supervision sessions every 8‑12 weeks.

  • Genuine interest in the mission and vision of Waythrough
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to policies and media guidelines, engage in supervision, and complete relevant training

Training and development

Prior to start, volunteers attend a one‑day induction workshop (online or in person). After the start date, volunteers have access to the training platform and may be asked to complete several training modules within the first three months. Ambassadors receive additional training.

Location

Newcastle Recovery Academy.

Timing

Minimum 3 hours per week – maximum 15 hours per week, to be agreed on appointment.
