Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
What the role involves
As a volunteer you will help deliver structured programmes, co‑facilitate and support recovery sessions, offer peer support to clients, assist Recovery Coaches with home visits and assessments, support clients in their recovery journey, raise awareness of the service and other support services, complete mandatory training in a timely manner, and attend supervision sessions every 8‑12 weeks.

- Non‑judgmental attitude towards people with lived experience
- Confident with email and phone contact
- Good time‑keeping
- Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and by instruction
- Understanding of Waythrough (information available on the website)
- Genuine interest in the mission and vision of Waythrough
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, adhere to policies and media guidelines, engage in supervision, and complete relevant training
- Regular supervision and support
- Induction and access to online and face‑to‑face training
- Opportunity to learn and practice new skills within a teamwork setting
- Being part of a team and the wider Waythrough organisation
- Reasonable travel expenses reimbursed with proof of journey

Prior to start, volunteers attend a one‑day induction workshop (online or in person). After the start date, volunteers have access to the training platform and may be asked to complete several training modules within the first three months. Ambassadors receive additional training.
LocationNewcastle Recovery Academy.
TimingMinimum 3 hours per week – maximum 15 hours per week, to be agreed on appointment.
