We are an employee‑owned supported living organisation who specialise in providing bespoke packages of support to people with learning disabilities and complex needs who wish to live in the community in their own home. We support adults & young people with learning disabilities, Autism & physical disabilities.

This is an opportunity to work with and support a young gentleman with autism & a learning disability, enabling him to live an enriched life within his own home in the community. He likes to get out in his car on a regular basis, for long drives & for visits to different venues within the North East. He also likes to spend quiet days at home or in the garden.

We are looking to recruit a Full time Deputy Service Leader in Lemington, Newcastle upon Tyne who has the necessary values and previous experience of the role. The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills with line managing an already well‑established staff team. This role will involve weekends, evenings & sleep‑ins.

£15.26 per hour & £101.68 for sleep‑ins, £50 per on‑call day, average annual salary of £36,000+.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the service manager with the daily running and management of the service, induct new team members, conduct staff supervisions and appraisals, manage annual leave and record sickness.
  • Prepare documentation for support plans, rotas and payroll.
  • Be part of the on‑call system and fully comply with Orbis Support’s policy for ‘On‑Call’, providing advice and support and covering services if necessary.
  • Complete daily paperwork and reports accurately when necessary.
  • Carry out a range of household tasks, minor maintenance and repair tasks as directed, ensuring that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always maintained.
  • Promote Equality, Diversity and inclusion within Orbis Support.
  • Liaise as required with families, carers, advocates and professionals.
  • Undertake all other duties and tasks commensurate with the scope and grade of the post as directed by senior staff. The needs of those supported will always be paramount.
