Cherry Tree View is Newcastle City Council's statutory temporary accommodation service, providing accommodation and support to individuals and families experiencing homelessness. This is a rewarding and fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient, and motivated Housing Support Officer to join our team. You will play a key role in supporting individuals and families living in temporary accommodation, helping them to overcome challenges, maintain their accommodation, and successfully resettle into the community.
Working flexibly across our core service hours of 7.30am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday, you will undertake needs assessments, develop and review person-centred support plans, and work closely with service users to promote independence and positive outcomes.
You will have a good understanding of housing and homelessness issues, welfare benefits, housing pathways, and the support services available to vulnerable households. The ability to build positive relationships and work effectively in partnership with a range of agencies and professionals is essential.
We are seeking someone who remains calm under pressure, demonstrates empathy and professionalism, and is committed to making a positive difference to people during times of crisis and transition.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team delivering vital support to some of the city's most vulnerable residents.
