Adult Social Worker

Are you a dedicated and experienced Adult Social Worker looking for a challenging contract opportunity? We are seeking a skilled Adult Social Worker to join Newcastle City Council on an initial 12 week contract. This would be based within aCommunity Mental Health Social Work Team within Adult Social Care. This is an excellent chance to contribute to crucial mental health services while working within a supportive team environment.

Position:
Adult Social Worker

Location: Newcastle

Contract Length: 12 weeks (with potential for extension)

Pay Rate: £21.70 PAYE per hour (£27.56 via umbrella)

Candidate Responsibilities for the Adult Social Worker N8 Role
  • Provide expert social work support within the Community Mental Health Social Work Team
  • Assess needs and develop care plans for adults with mental health difficulties
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams and external agencies
  • Engage with clients to promote independence and well-being
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records in line with legal and organizational standards
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and training sessions as required
You will need to have:
  • Proven experience working within adult social care, especially mental health
  • Social worker qualification (e.g., CQSW, DIPSW, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of mental health legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Registered with Social Work England or relevant regulatory body
