Major Recruitment Limited has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Ofsted Registered Manager to lead a Children’s Home in the Northeast of England
.

We are seeking a Registered Manager who firmly believes that every child has the potential to thrive
. The successful candidate will be committed to delivering trauma-informed, relationship-based care
, creating a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment for children and young people.

The Registered Manager will ensure that every child and young person feels valued, heard, and supported
, with opportunities to develop essential life skills that promote independence, self-worth, and positive outcomes. A strong focus will be placed on working collaboratively with external agencies and services to ensure each child has access to the best possible support network
.

Children and young people within the home will require ongoing support, guidance, and development
, and the Registered Manager will play a key role in driving high-quality, child-centred care.

• Lead on the development and implementation of the home’s care approach
• Shape and embed a therapeutic model of care aligned with legislation and Ofsted requirements
• Develop, implement, and review policies, procedures, and safeguarding practices
• Build the service from the ground up
  , ensuring full regulatory compliance
• Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes
• Ensure staff are trained, supported, and able to meet the individual needs of young people
• Develop and oversee staff development and performance plans
• Liaise effectively with children and young people, staff, families, professionals, and external agencies
• Act as a strong advocate for children and young people
  , ensuring their voices remain central to all decision‑making
• Demonstrate care, compassion, enthusiasm, and commitment to promoting wellbeing
• Lead with drive, adaptability, and effective change management skills

You will have:

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) or be willing to complete
• Significant experience in children’s residential care
  , including leadership/management
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and legislation
• Excellent communication, organisational, and decision‑making skills
• A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children
• An enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

• Monday to Friday
• Rotational on call
