Software Development Lead

This is an opportunity for a Software Development Lead to shape a major modernisation programme and steer the evolution of a software product into a modern, scalable, API‑driven architecture.

• Lead and mentor a growing development team whilst remaining hands‑on.
• Modernise and replatform a legacy application
• Build and enhance backend services, RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product, UI/UX and delivery teams to deliver intuitive, future‑ready features.
• Define engineering best practices, architectural patterns and coding standards.

• Strong full‑stack developer with hands‑on experience across multiple programming languages.
• Proven experience leading or mentoring developers.
• Legacy migration experience (essential).
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices, integration patterns and backend architecture.
• Good knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to influence technical direction.
