Senior Software Developer (.NET / Backend / Azure)

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne (Hybrid – typically 2 days onsite)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

An established, technology-led organisation in Newcastle is looking to hire a Senior Software Developer to join a growing engineering team working on large-scale, live platforms.

This is a backend-focused role where you’ll be working with modern .NET and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of systems that are critical to the business.

It’s particularly well suited to someone who enjoys working on real-world systems, improving performance, and evolving existing platforms rather than purely building from scratch.

• Develop and maintain backend systems using C# and modern .NET
• Build and enhance APIs and scalable services
• Work on live production systems, improving performance and reliability
• Contribute to system design and technical decision making
• Support the evolution of systems towards more modern, scalable architectures
• Work within an Azure-based environment
• Collaborate with developers, QA and stakeholders across the business

• Strong experience with C# and modern .NET (.NET Core / .NET 6+)
• Experience working on live production systems
• Some exposure to Azure or other cloud platforms
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Experience working in Agile teams
• Experience with microservices or distributed systems
• Exposure to CI/CD or Dev Ops practices
• Any frontend experience (not essential)

• £55,000 – £65,000 salary depending on experience
