Senior Java Developer

Newcastle – Hybrid Working: 3 days per week in our Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office.

• Advocate for and employ good development practices such as a consistent branching strategy, coding standards, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Testing.
• Support the technical leads in designing the separation of functionality into microservices and the end-to-end integration and flow between technical components. Support the test automation engineers in testing stories and features delivered both from functional and non-functional perspectives.
• Participate in Scrum activities including sprint backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and sprint retrospectives.
• Assist the team in delivering features by expanding capabilities into other areas of development and testing.

• Strong experience in Java 8 to 17.
• Proven background in Spring, Spring Boot, Spring MVC.
• Experience with JavaScript.
• Hands‑on experience in Java Development.
• Ability to mentor and develop junior developers.
• Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
