Lead Java Developer

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a high-performing technology team in Newcastle, working on secure, enterprise-scale solutions for a leading client.

Due to the nature of the work, successful candidates will need to undergo Security Clearance
. This requires 5+ years of continuous UK residence
, with no period of 6 months or more spent outside the UK during that time. This includes either a single 6-month absence or multiple trips totalling 6 months or more.

• Develop modular, scalable services using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot
  .
• Build and integrate enterprise applications using Web Logic Server and CAS SDK
  .
• Develop secure, cloud-based solutions using platforms such as AWS and containerisation
  .
• Contribute to microservices architecture and end-to-end system integration.
• Champion best practices including TDD, CI/CD, continuous testing and coding standards
  .
• Support automated functional and non-functional testing.
• Work within a Scrum/Agile environment, contributing to planning, refinement, reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with technical leads, infrastructure teams and test automation engineers.
• Java JDK 11+ and Spring Boot
  .
• Experience developing microservices and enterprise applications.
• Experience with Web Logic Server and enterprise middleware.
• Understanding of secure, scalable cloud environments, ideally AWS
  .
• Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum development practices.
