Senior Java Developer

Security Clearance Requirement

Due to the nature of the work you'll be supporting, this role requires eligibility for Security Clearance. As part of the clearance process, applicants must be able to provide a minimum of five years' UK address history at the time of application.

This role is based at our Newcastle office in Cobalt Business Park and requires a minimum of three days per week on-site.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our Advanced Technology Centre in Newcastle.

You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale applications and microservices solutions that support large-scale public and private sector programmes. Working as part of high-performing Agile teams, you’ll combine hands-on development with technical leadership, helping to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices architectures that support scalable business solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver high-quality software throughout the development lifecycle.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor junior developers and promote knowledge sharing across the team.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
