Class 1 Driver

Overview

GI Group is recruiting multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers for an internationally known client in Newcastle (NE37). The client offers courier services worldwide, focusing on the express road‑based market.

We are looking for Class 1 Drivers to work afternoon shifts on an ad‑hoc basis.

• Monday to Friday (average 12‑hour shift)
• Weekend work available and optional

• Monday to Friday: £20.34 per hour* (PAYE, includes advanced holiday pay)
• Saturday: £26.35 per hour*
• Sunday: £29.41 per hour*

* Pay rates include advanced holiday pay.

• Conduct vehicle checks
• Trunking work to depots
• Deliver safely to customers throughout the UK
• Prioritise workload to meet time commitments

• Presentable appearance, eye for detail, positive attitude
• No more than 6 penalty points; no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsement codes
• Valid, in‑date tachograph & CPC
• Good customer service skills
• At least 12 months experience as a Class 1 Driver
