Employment Type: Full-time
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient, safe, and accurate handling, storage, and distribution of goods. The role involves supervising warehouse staff, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including goods receiving, picking, packing, dispatch, and stock control.
- Lead, coach, and support warehouse operatives to ensure productivity, accuracy, and adherence to procedures.
- Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels, investigate discrepancies, and support regular stock counts and audits.
- Coordinate workload planning and prioritisation to meet delivery and service level requirements.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and ensure correct use of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Support training, onboarding, and performance management of warehouse staff.
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and transport providers to resolve operational issues.
- Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and distribution processes.
- Knowledge of UK health and safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Experience leading and motivating teams.
- Good organisational and problem‑solving skills.
- Competent IT skills, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach).
- Experience with in regulated or quality‑driven environments.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean principles.
- GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths.
- Relevant warehouse or logistics qualifications are advantageous.
