Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Production Support Operator – temporary contract (Pay rate £16.14 per hour, 37 hours per week). This role is based in a Service Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne and involves supporting day‑to‑day operations, ensuring accurate handling of materials, components and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving, inspecting and processing incoming deliveries and customer returns.
  • Unloading vehicles safely and checking deliveries against accompanying documentation.
  • Booking stock into inventory management systems and maintaining accurate records.
  • Organising and managing storage locations to maximise efficiency and accessibility.
  • Picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch to customers and suppliers.
  • Supporting stock control activities, including cycle counts, stock checks and audits.
  • Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and inventory‑related issues.
  • Coordinating the movement of materials between goods‑in, storage and operational teams.
  • Operating forklifts, overhead cranes and other material handling equipment safely and effectively.
  • Supporting vehicle marshalling activities on site.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the Service Centre.
Candidate Requirements
  • Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
  • Valid Overhead Crane certification.
  • Vehicle Marshalling certification or demonstrable experience.
  • Previous experience within warehouse, logistics, stores, inventory control or service centre environments.
  • Experience using warehouse management, inventory control or ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding of stock management and inventory accuracy.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a busy operational environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a positive team‑focused attitude.
