Animal Hospital Of Newport Hills has an amazing Managing Veterinarian who loves to mentor and train. Our team is a well-oiled machine; we take pride in our strong collaboration, fast-paced and well-organized environment, caseload variety as we accept walk-ins, and experienced and devoted support staff.
Responsibilities- Gain experience in gathering patient histories and performing physical exams
- Create treatment plans and perform diagnostics, dentistry services
- Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures
- Medical management of patients
- Develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships are offered to veterinary students in their final year.
Stipend and BenefitsA travel/living expense stipend is available for students in the clinical portion of their education. The stipend amount for Animal Hospital of Newport Hills is $1,500.
Qualifications / EligibilityExternships are open to veterinary students in their final year of veterinary school who are in the clinical portion of their education.
