Job Title: Tax Advisor & Preparer
Location: Newmarket, ON. Hybrid – travelling to meet Members, and in office

This is a travel-based role that requires daily in-person visits with FBC members at their place of business. To proceed through the application process, you must be willing to drive daily to both urban and remote locations and possess a valid driver’s licence, vehicle registration, and a reliable vehicle.
Position OverviewThe Tax Advisor & Preparer works directly with Members to understand their financial situation and deliver tailored tax strategies that minimize taxes in both the short and long term. In addition to tax preparation and planning, this role introduces Members to FBC’s full range of services, including bookkeeping, payroll, legal assistance, and access to financial and estate planning professionals. Support may also include estate planning, retirement planning, and cash flow management as Member needs arise.
The successful candidate will be client-focused, knowledgeable in tax and accounting practices, and motivated to build lasting Member relationships while providing trusted financial guidance.
This position reports to our FBC Barrie, ON location. You will be expected to report to the Barrie office as required.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate tax and accounting advice to FBC Members.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Members, encouraging referrals and long-term engagement.
- Identify Member needs and connect them with other specialists within the Company and network.
- Maintain accurate records of all Member interactions and services provided.
- Obtain member information to file and complete member T1 and T2 tax returns.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with a tax preparation or accounting firm.
- Proficiency in tax preparation and accounting software;
Taxprep and Xero preferred (iFirm knowledge an asset). - Experience preparing tax returns for farms and small businesses.
- Experience preparing corporate tax returns.
Skills and Abilities

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Tax Advisors & Preparers are compensated through an annual salary ranging from $55,000–$100,000, in addition to a comprehensive benefits package and variable bonuses based on both individual and company performance metrics.
