About The PositionWe are seeking a passionate, caring, and dedicated Montessori Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and respectful learning environment that supports the development, independence, confidence, and success of children approximately 2.3 to 6 years of age.
What We Are Looking ForWe are looking for an educator who is caring, dependable, enthusiastic, and committed to creating a positive Montessori learning experience. The ideal candidate will value children's individuality, encourage independence, and contribute positively to a collaborative classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and monitor children’s developmental progress and individual needs.
- Prepare and maintain accurate progress reports and monthly lesson plans.
- Establish and maintain a positive Montessori classroom culture that reflects Montessori principles and practices.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain Montessori materials and classroom environments.
- Maintain and implement all units of study in accordance with classroom and program expectations.
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate daily activities that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
- Foster children’s independence, self-esteem, confidence, and sense of accomplishment.
- Provide a warm, patient, and respectful approach when supporting children.
- Follow all applicable Ontario Ministry of Education requirements, regulations, and guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with children, families, and team members.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide consistent and high-quality care and education.
Strong organizational skills, professionalism, reliability, and a genuine passion for working with children.
AMI or MACTE-accredited Montessori training diploma OR Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma.
Minimum 2 Years Of Childcare Experience Is An Asset.
Familiarity with Montessori Pre-Casa and Casa materials, methods, and practices.
Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work patiently and enthusiastically with children between 2.3 and 6 years of age.
Ability to follow Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines and childcare regulations.
Police Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening, issued within the last 6 months.
Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.
Up-to-date immunizations as required for working in a childcare setting.
Fluency In English Is Required.
