French Teacher / Tutor – Part‑time Position at Oxford Learning Newmarket

Employment Type: Part Time

• Work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and some Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm).
• Commitment until the end of the school year preferred; continuing through the summer even better.
• Reliable and trustworthy – punctuality and consistency are essential.
• Strong background in spoken and written French and English; comfortable teaching up to Grade 9 (Grade 12 preferred).
• Instruction must be conducted entirely in French.
• In‑person role; commuting to the Newmarket location required; no relocation package.
• Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong French skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching in the classroom setting (in‑person).
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post‑lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job Type: Part‑time

• Evenings – Monday to Friday.
