Summary
The ideal candidate for the Test Development Engineering Lead position is one who enjoys working on the hardware-software boundary, and is driven by complex problem solving in a fast-paced environment. The role involves leading development of Functional and System level test strategies and solutions for A&D, Health Tech, Smart Energy, and Industrial segments. The role will also include delivering these solutions to Celestica’s global production locations and supporting local site engineering during launch.
Work is project based with individual contribution in a structured team environment. The role is within a very experienced group of development engineers and technicians working in a dedicated test development lab. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is able to drive development activities forward while contributing to team and project based objectives. Experience designing test processes and supporting the launch of these solutions into production operations is an important asset for this role.
DetailedDescription
- Develop production test strategies based on product design specification
- Lead the design and development of test solutions including both hardware and software elements
- Involvement in all areas of the development process, including creating test plan, software development, hardware development, system integration, procurement, qualification, and installation support for manufacturing
- Development support for multiple production facilities across our global network
- Test process optimization, with a focus on productivity improvements to cycle time and yield
- Through data analysis identify continuous improvement opportunities within production test
- Integrate tools and code developed by other internal groups or external customers
- Debug of solutions using design of experiments, tools, and failure analysis methodologies
- Collaborate with a highly experienced engineering team to review and provide input on development designs
- Review and validate technical data created by project team members (Test plans, Schematics, technician documents, PFMEA, qualification reports, etc.)
- Liaison between the Customer, Program Manager, and the technical team
- Apply a continuous improvement mindset to all aspects of the development process
- Occasional travel and flexible work schedules for global site support may be required
- Bachelor of Applied Science or Engineering in Electrical
- 8 years of relevant test development experience
- 5 years of experience in technical leadership role on engineering projects
- 3 years of full solution development experience with National Instruments Lab View
- Experience interacting with the customers and vendors on technical items.
- Ability to learn new software coding languages and custom code deployments
- Manufacturing Operations background (electronics manufacturing experience preferred)
- Hardware development, integration and qualification
- Software design, development, debug and release
- Experience creating schematics with Altium
- Programming experience with other languages is considered a bonus (Python, C++, C#, and .NET, etc.)
- Duties of this position are performed in a combined manufacturing and office environment.
- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- 8 years or more of related experience in similar job roles
- Bachelor degree or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
$78,000 - $104,000 CAD
