Wastewater Treatment Operator

Drive optimal wastewater operations at York Region as a Wastewater Treatment Operator in Newmarket, Ontario. This full-time role involves hands-on maintenance and compliance to ensure top-tier effluent quality.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Operations, you will engage in maintenance activities across wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations. Key responsibilities include daily equipment checks, chemical dosage tests, and documenting operational logs. Your technical expertise will ensure adherence to Provincial Acts and facilitate effective team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform operations and maintenance at water treatment plants

• Conduct daily checks and adjust process controls

• Carry out routine chemical dosage tests

• Participate in equipment installation and commissioning

• Maintain accurate data logs and conduct in-plant analysis

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Sciences

• MECP Operator License for Wastewater Treatment

• Field experience with water/wastewater facilities

• Valid Class “G” driver’s license

• Knowledge of the OH&S Act and relevant regulations
