Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operator training for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing. Designs fixtures, develops programs, and optimizes high-speed manufacturing processes to ensure accurate, consistent, and efficient production.
Responsibilities- Design fixtures, program, maintain, and optimize automated dispensing equipment to ensure high-speed, accurate, and consistent production.
- Provide basic technical support on assigned materials for production or customer-identified material problems.
- Help determine inspection criteria for incoming materials and coordinate component selection and qualification.
- Evaluate new equipment, coordinate software and hardware upgrades, set equipment specifications and qualification tests, and recommend new equipment.
- Interact with customers to resolve problems and increase product quality and yield.
- Provide feedback to other engineering groups and possibly the customer to ensure smooth production.
- Solve assigned technical product, process, component, or material problems affecting efficient manufacture under guidance of more experienced engineers.
- Leverage knowledge of the design process for systems and printed circuit boards.
- Understand systems and PCB manufacturing processes and equipment.
- Know materials and components used in construction of systems and PCBs and subassemblies.
- Evaluate materials, gather and analyze data, and determine root cause of problems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
- Familiarity with industry and quality standards.
- CAD Proficiency: Design or modify equipment layouts using CATIA, AutoCAD, or Solid Works.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external customers; strong organization skills.
- Work in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, hazardous substances, etc.
- Extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements such as data entry or using a computer mouse.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Educational requirements may vary by geography.
$67,000 - $87,000 CAD per year (base salary and target short-term incentive only). A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range.
Controlled Goods ProgramThis position involves technologies regulated by Canada’s Controlled Goods Program (CGP). Candidates must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents and meet all CGP requirements. Job offers will be conditional upon successful security screening.
